One of my good friends called me yesterday after her acupuncture session. Her acupuncturist is a cosmically intuitive clairvoyant of sorts, so they talk about my friend and her questions and her dreams and her future whenever she goes in for a visit. So I answered her call and said, “So what did she have to say?” My friend started going on about the acupuncturist’s most recent musings and predictions: the status of her relationship, what the incipient summer season holds, and upcoming creative endeavors. Apparently the acupuncturist had a premonition about me and about my friend and I embarking on an artistic collaboration. Which was funny, because my friend and I started writing a screenplay a couple years ago, only to let life consume us and abandon our project so negligently. I appreciated this gesture from the universe – to hold us both accountable to our art and our work. My friend and I started talking about it, sharing ideas and visions, and discussed our schedules. “Ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod,” my friend interrupted me, “I just saw the cutest thing!”
“What?” I asked.
“I just saw this beautiful pregnant woman holding this huge ice cream cone, with three different scoops of ice cream, covered in rainbow sprinkles, on a waffle cone, and it just made me feel like, Yeah lady, you get it! Enjoy that ice cream!!!!!!“
And I couldn’t agree more.
